With sunny, blue sky winter days calling us out in to the snow in Gros Morne National Park, the Burnt Hill trail in Norris Point is a perfect snowshoe trail to get you outside in to the elements, without having to travel too far.

The Burnt Hill trail starts on the north side of the Norris Point waterfront (to the far left of the Cat Stop, if you’re looking at the water). After a short set of stairs, the trail will lead you around the hill by the water, before you head up in to the woods toward the top. You’ll get views of Bonne Bay, Norris Point, Neddies Harbour, the Tablelands, Gros Morne Mountain, and more.

A big thanks to Annette Parsons from The Old Store Cafe for these photos of snowshoeing on the Burnt Hill trail in mid-January 2017.

The Burnt Hill trail takes you right along the edge of the water.
